Ask Horarium
An assistant that will tell you no.
It answers from how your venue is actually set up. When you ask for something the product cannot do, it says so and names the setting that can — rather than agreeing with you and quietly doing nothing.
01 · Inside the line
“How do I stop a shift changing when I regenerate?”
It answers from how your venue is set up
Not from a help centre written once and left. The assistant is given this venue's own settings, so what it tells you about locking, notes or standing rules is what is true here.
02 · Outside the line
“Put two more people on the floor on Friday night”
It tells you when something isn't possible
Headcount comes from your shift templates, so no phrasing of this request would have worked. It says so, and names where the number actually lives, instead of accepting the instruction and quietly doing nothing.
03 · On the line
“Lock Sam's Thursday shift”
It proposes; you decide
The assistant can put an action on screen. Only your click performs it — the same boundary the product keeps between reading what you meant and changing what is real.
Real components, real clicks, recorded answers
The line
It knows where the product stops.
Most of what you can type into a week’s notes works. A specific set of things cannot, and the assistant is told which is which. Both columns in full.
Say it and it happens
“Give Priya Nair Saturday off”
A day off for a named person
“Make sure Tom Hale works Friday”
A forced working day for a named person
“Spread the weekend hours evenly this week”
Emphasis on a goal the solver already weighs
“No doubles this week”
Same — an emphasis, not a new rule
“Priya never works Sundays”
Sounds permanent, so it's offered as a real setting afterwards
Say it and it tells you no
“Two more on the floor Friday night”
Headcount lives in a shift template, not in notes
“Run lean on weekdays”
Also a headcount change, for the same reason
“Put Sam and Jo on together”
There is no way to say two people must share a shift
This is not a list written for a marketing page. It is in the product knowledge the assistant is given, which is why it can state a limit straight away instead of finding it by trying.
Watch it used
Told no, then shown where to go.
One session on a real venue. Typing and the wait while the solver runs are sped up — everything the assistant says plays at its own pace.
01
A question only this venue can answer
“How many hours can Matteo work?” — answered from his own record: a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 30. Not a definition of what maximum hours are. His.
02
Asked for something it can't do
Two fewer people on Friday evening is a headcount change, and headcount lives in a shift template. It says so, says the Floor PM Friday number is currently 5, and offers the settings page rather than leaving you to find it.
03
The change, and the week rebuilt
Friday's number edited in Venue settings, then the solver runs on the whole week again. The wait is sped up here; it takes about half a minute in real life.
It cannot put anybody on a shift.
The assistant answers questions, offers to open the right page, and can propose exactly one kind of change — locking or unlocking an assignment — which only your click applies. Nothing it does decides who works when. That is the solver’s job, and the solver proves its answer.
Ask it about your own venue.
Set up once, and it answers from your settings rather than from a manual.
